Well, er, um,… I sold my ibook G4 933 that had 1.5 Gb ram for $700 bucks and bought a new 17 inch core 2 duo Compaq with a 250 GB hard drive and a DVD burner. I paid $699.00 for this laptop at FutureShop
Yes, it runs Vista.
And, I am writing this post using “Windows Live Writer” blogging software.
My intentions were to run Linux (Ubuntu 7.1) has worked the best so far. I thought I would get the Vista side configured and then abandon it to run mainly in Linux. I am still in Vista.
I have my sidebar gadgets configured with “The Weather Channel”, “Xirrus Wifi Monitor”, “NHL Scoreboard”, ‘Vista Clock + Calendar”, and “Trash can”.
Yes, Safari is installed along with Firefox and Thunderbird.
What’s the point?????
Well, I am not sure because I have been experiencing some odd feelings….feelings that I had once when I purchased my first Mac (iLamp).
My main machine is still my Intel iMac, but I have not sat at it for over 3 days.
I don’t know… $699.00 for a laptop with essentially the same specs as a Macbook (Yes it also has a webcam) and runs Vista. No, I have not tried to change the themes to make it look like a Mac.
I guess I will power it down when i start to feel too dirty?
Dazed and Confused.

During a late 2005 NHL Hockey game, it was alleged that Phoenix Coyotes forward Shane Doan directed an anti-French remark at the referee of that particular game. After an investigation by the NHL, Doan’s name was cleared. Nearly a year and a half later, Doan is the captain of Team Canada at the World Hockey Championships. Amazingly on May 1 all four of Canada’s political parties supported a motion in a session of the Canadian House of Commons requiring Hockey Canada to appear before a parliamentary committee and explain its choice of Doan as captain of the team.
While allegations along the lines of the 2005 one are no laughing matter, something isn’t right here. It would appear as if a hockey player and the game itself may be being exploited for political reasons.

Living Without Safari Week 3: Opera: “After leaving Safari behind to spend a week with Firefox, and then another in OmniWeb, I was surprised to find that my Web browsing experience was going pretty well. I even compared OmniWeb to visiting a town where there are happy surprises around every corner. But my trip to Opera ville… I’m pretty sure the guy that punched me in the stomach as I rounded the first corner also stole my milk money”

Download and install the CustomHTMLExport export plugin for iPhoto:
• Be sure that iPhoto is in Applications folder.
• Uncompress the Sample Templates folder that’s included with the plug-in. Copy the template folders to your user’s Library -> Application Support -> CustomHTMLExport folder (which you’ll need to create).
Then launch iPhoto, select the album or individual photos you want, choose File: Export, then click the first tab, CustomHTMLExport. Now select either the SimpleVi…

Five years of Mac OS X : Page 1
An interesting read about the history of Mac OS X and what/could have happened…..
…Apple was so desperate for a solution to its OS problem in the mid- to late 1990s that both Solaris and Windows NT were considered as possible foundations for the next-generation Mac OS.

Being a Mac user inherantly implies that you have a digital camera. With iphoto in it’s 6th version, Mac users just love the multimedia experience.
Those of us who purchased digital cameras when 3.1 megapixels were the norm, can appreciate the need to enlarge some of our shots to more than a 5X7 to print. This is especially true if that one important shot we took was not set at the “least compression”.
